FAQ's
All of the most commonly asked FAQ's at Lost Tower are below. If you don't see your question below, feel free to contact us.
The cost of your tattoo varies depending on the piece you've booked. Our work is entirely based on time spent, so the more detailed and/or larger your piece, the more it will cost. Your artist will offer you the best quote possible prior to your tattoo, but these are only ever guesses, based on experience. Always allow for your piece to cost slightly more or less than your quote.
We're based at 10a Tower Street, Hartlepool. You can find all directions to the studio by clicking here.
We do gift vouchers for clients to any value required. You can purchase gift vouchers in store or by contacting us here.
Although we don't sell numbing cream, we have a provider that can sell the cream to you. You can buy online at: xyonuk.com or get in touch with us and we will try to help you acquire the necessary cream.
Your tattoo artist will provide the necessary aftercare advice for your tattoo, but you can also find our full aftercare descriptions here.
We do offer cover-ups and have specialised in them for several years now. If you have a piece you'd like covering, contact us now and we'll let you know if it's possible and direct you to the correct artist for your needs.
We currently don't offer a laser service, but work with a local laser specialist who is very close to the shop and offers a standard of lasering above your normal 'tattoo shop laser', meaning we're happy to recommend our clients. Contact us for more details.
No, sorry, we are a 'by appointment only' studio, so do not offer walk-ins. Due to the nature of our artists being booked solidly, we only offer a booking service. We do try to accommodate as quickly as possible, so if you would like to book, get in touch here with full details of what you would like and which artist you would most like to do your work. We'll aim to get you booked in as soon as possible.

Alex is renowned for apprenticing people to a very high standard and has earned a reputation that means we are always inundated with apprenticeship requests. Alex's official position currently is that he is not looking for apprentices, but will never turn down extremely talented people. So, if you genuinely believe your artistic skills are of a very high standard, contact us here to enquire.
Our studio space is limited, so in most cases we are unable to offer space for people to accompany you. It may be worth asking your artist in advance to see if we have space on the day, just be aware, in most cases, you're expected to attend alone. If you have a disability that requires support, we will of course accommodate.
No. Tattoos are illegal for under 18's even with parental consent, and anyone tattooing underage people is classed as 'assault on a minor.'
The potential legal ramifications of tattooing under 18's are so large, no self-respecting, legal studio will do this, so please don't ask.
We allow for a single rearrangement of your tattoo appointment, if you give us at least 48 hours notice before your appointment date. If you let us know inside 48 hours your deposit is void and a new deposit will have to be paid to re-book. If you rearrange a 2nd time in one booking, your deposit will be lost and a new one will be needed to re-book.
